How I Passed the MB-920: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fundamentals ERP Exam

On March 1, 2025, I successfully passed the MB-920 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fundamentals ERP exam. This certification test consists of 35 questions to be completed in 45 minutes. I took the exam online, which required careful preparation of my room and computer according to Pearson VUE requirements.

Exam Preparation Strategies

Learn Concepts and Practice in a Test Environment
I primarily relied on the Learning Path provided by Microsoft Learn and practiced in my company’s Dynamics 365 sandbox environment. Access to a test environment was crucial for deeply understanding key concepts. I focused on topics from the study guide, frequently checking for updates.

Assess Yourself Multiple Times
I utilized the Practice Assessment questions repeatedly by not checking the correct answers immediately. Instead, I completed all questions before reviewing the final results, allowing me to use the same questions multiple times without memorizing the answers.

Exam Day Tips

Use Speakers, Not Headsets
For this exam, make sure to use speakers instead of a headset.

Be Prepared for a Long Wait
After checking in on time and starting the camera recording, I experienced a long wait before the exam began. I waited over 20 minutes before contacting the proctor. Ensure you don’t leave the camera view or touch your phone during this waiting period.

Skip Uncertain Questions
During the exam, I skipped questions I was unsure about, leaving them for the end. This strategy made it easier to review skipped questions rather than those answered with low confidence. I had sufficient time to revisit these questions later.

Final Thoughts

While the MB-920 exam is challenging, success is achievable with dedicated studying from the sources mentioned above. In my experience, the actual exam questions were more difficult than those in the practice assessment. However, scoring over 80% on the practice assessment before scheduling the exam proved to be a good benchmark for readiness.

Remember, everyone’s experience may differ, but these strategies worked well for me. Good luck to all future test-takers!
